Restore Wrinkled Boots Using Socks and Steam

Wrinkles on the front of your boots can make them look old, even if they’re barely worn.
This simple sock-and-iron trick smooths out creases and makes your boots look new again.

Boot wrinkles form when the material repeatedly bends without internal support. To fix this, stuff the front of the boots tightly with rolled socks so the leather or synthetic material is stretched back into shape. Place a cloth over the wrinkled area to protect the surface, then gently iron it on low heat. The combination of internal pressure and controlled heat relaxes the material, allowing the creases to smooth out. Done correctly, this restores the boot’s shape without damaging the surface. Tips: Just avoid high heat and never iron directly on the boot.
